Spicy Jambalaya


Jambalaya is a dish influenced by the Spanish and French which originated in Louisiana. This dish is a very popular rice and meat dish but is different in its own way. Jambalaya can be made with seafood or meat and seafood together. This recipe is for spicy jambalaya and it explores the many flavors which are incorporated into one amazing pot. 1 package chicken flavored instant rice
½ lb chopped chicken breast
¼ lb of sausage of your choice
¼ lb of cleaned uncooked shrimp
2 cloves crushed garlic
1 diced medium green pepper
1 chopped onion
1 chopped medium tomato
½ teaspoon cumin
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
⅛ Teaspoon hot pepper
½ teaspoon dried oregano


-Prepare the rice mix according to the instructions on the package

-In a separate skillet, cook the chicken and sausage for 5 minutes

-Add the garlic, green pepper, onion and stir until the meat and vegetables are fully cooked

-Add the tomato, seasonings, hot pepper and shrimp and stir until the shrimp is cooked

-Serve with the prepared rice
